Creating a new Authorization Group

Starting the creation wizard

Click Create new group from the groups list. The form is divided into three sections: basic information, characteristics, and responsible assignment.

Basic information

FieldDescription
Code (Acronym)Unique short identifier. Cannot be changed after creation. Must not conflict with any existing global group code.
NameHuman-readable display name.
DescriptionShort description of the group purpose.

Context type

TypePurpose
Role groupUsed for access routing and role assignment workflows.
Security groupControls application permissions and access control policies.
Mailing groupUsed for email distribution lists. Requires an email address.

Population type

TypeDescription
CalculatedMembers determined automatically by rules on the nightly cron.
ExplicitMembers added and removed manually by responsibles or delegates.
MixCombines automatic rules with manual member management.
Group of groupsMembership inherited from one or more linked child groups.

User scope

Choose which category of users this group can contain: Internal (employees and collaborators), External (outside the main directory), or All.

Global group option

Enabling the Global group toggle makes the group visible and usable across all brands and tenants. This setting is restricted to system administrators and should be used sparingly.

Mailing group extras

If Mailing is selected as the context type, two additional fields appear: an email address for the distribution list, and a newsletter visibility toggle.

Assigning a responsible

Optionally assign a group responsible at creation time. The responsible can be changed later via Edit settings.
