Any account created without an immediate password — whether via Single Invite, Bulk Invite, or silent creation — starts in a Pending state. These accounts are listed under User registration → Pending Activation.
Status indicators
Each pending user shows two status badges:
- Never emailed — the account was created silently and no invitation has been sent yet.
- Email sent — awaiting activation — an invitation was sent but the user has not yet clicked the link.
- Has password / No password yet — whether a password hash is already stored on the account.
Two ways to activate a pending account
Select one of the two options shown for each pending user and click the send button.
Send activation link
Sends an email with a personal link. The user clicks it and creates their own password. The account remains pending until they complete this step. This is the default and recommended approach when you want the user to own their credentials from the start.
Generate password & send credentials
Generates a secure random password, activates the account immediately, and emails the user their username and the new password. Use this when the account needs to be active right away without waiting for the user to act.
In both cases you can add an optional note that will be included in the email (e.g., onboarding instructions or context about the account).
