What is Manage Authorization Groups?
Manage Authorization Groups is the central module for creating, configuring, and maintaining all authentication and authorization groups within the platform. Groups control access to applications, provisioning to external systems (Office 365, Cloud Files), and are used as the target for Permission Packages.
Groups list — tabs and filters
The main list view presents all groups accessible to the current user. A filter bar at the top lets you narrow results by context type, population type, user scope, and provisioning target.
| Tab | Shows |
|---|---|
| Groups you delegated | Groups where the current user is a delegate manager. |
| Groups you are responsible for | Groups where the current user is the assigned responsible. |
| All groups | All tenant groups (requires manage_auth_groups permission or Founder access). |
| Default | System-predefined groups that cannot be deleted. |
| Global | Cross-brand global groups (super-administrator access only). |
List columns
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Code | Unique short identifier (acronym). Read-only after creation. |
| Name | Human-readable group name. |
| Context | Role, Security, or Mailing badge with tooltip. |
| Population | How membership is determined. |
| User scope | Internal, External, or All. |
| Members | Current member count. A ~ prefix indicates a Calculated group where the count is a cached approximation. |
| Provisioning | External systems this group feeds into. |
| Actions | View details or edit settings. |
Global groups
Groups marked Global are shared across all brands and tenants. Their member count aggregates users from all brands. Use global groups with caution — changes affect the entire platform.
