Definition

Once a profile is defined, assigning it to a user is a quick, one-step process that replaces the need for multiple manual grants.

1. Navigate to Assignments

In the Permissions Control Center dashboard, select an applications and switch to the Assigned Users tab. This view lists all current profile associations.

2. The Assignment Process

Click the AssignProfile button to open the assignment modal.

Select User

Search for the employee by name or ID. The system will display their User Chip to confirm their identity.

Select Profile

Choose the appropriate role from the Profile dropdown list (e.g., "Customer Support Agent").

Set Validity (Optional)

Just like manual permissions, profile assignments can be temporary:

  • Valid From: Defaults to today. Set a future date to schedule a promotion or role change in advance.
  • Valid To: Set an expiration date if the role is temporary (e.g., "Acting Manager" coverage for 2 weeks).

3. Confirmation and Sync

Click Assign. The system performs the following actions:

  1. Conflict Check: It ensures the user doesn't already have this profile assigned for the same period.
  2. Permission Expansion: The system automatically calculates all individual permissions contained in the profile and grants them to the user in the background.
  3. Cache Refresh: The user's access is updated immediately.
Success: A confirmation message will appear stating "Profile assigned to [User Name]. Permissions will sync automatically".

Revoking a Profile

To remove a user from a role:

  1. Find the user in the Assigned Users list.
  2. Click the Revoke / Remove button.
  3. Confirm the action. The system will immediately strip all permissions associated with that profile from the user.
