The Visibility of Time
Because OpenStudio supports Time-Based Access, a user might appear in the "Active" list but still be unable to access the feature (if their start date is in the future), or they might still appear in the list but have lost access (if their end date has passed).
Status Indicators
The Value/Date column provides visual cues to help you diagnose these issues:
1. Pending (Future Access)
If you granted access starting next week, the user appears immediately in the list, but their row is marked as pending.
- Visual: The "Starts" date is highlighted in Orange.
- Badge: A PENDING label appears next to the date.
- Effect: The user cannot use the feature yet. Access will unlock automatically at 00:00 on the start date.
2. Expired (Past Access)
If a temporary permission (e.g., for an auditor) has reached its "Valid Until" date:
- Visual: The "Ends" date turns Red.
- Icon: A blinking exclamation icon draws attention to the expiry.
- Effect: The user has lost access. You must edit the permission and extend the "Valid Until" date (or clear it for unlimited access) to restore them.
3. Active (Live)
A healthy, active permission is indicated by:
- Starts: A standard blue text with a icon.
- Ends: Either a future date or the green text Unlimited validity.
