I can't select a structure/UOR or I can't operate on my structure

Introduction

There are some restrictions on which structures (UORs in the IT Protocol environment) you can manage and use.
For example you may not see them in a protocol registration page, or on your own dashboard.

There are different conditions for it to be manageable:

  • You need to be authorized to access the IT Protocol
  • You need to be authorized in read-only or management to that specific structure
  • The responsible of the structure needs to be:
    • Authorized to access the IT Protocol
    • Authorized to access the structure

One of the requirements for a structure to be manageable, is that there is an active and authorized responsible.

How to understand why you cannot see or manage a structure (UOR)

There are two possible reasons why you can not operate or select a structure in the IT Protocol. To check the actual reason, access the application and open the registry menu:

IT Protocol - Home - Management section

At this point, open the menu "Internal structures" under the Advanced search section:

IT Protocol - Search internal structure

Now select an area (first-level structure) and then select the structure (second-level) that you want to check.
You will see different status already in the list:

  • ACTIVE means that the responsible of that structure is authorized to use the IT Protocol, and has been assigned as operator to that UOR. So, the structure can be managed in the IT Protocol environment.
  • ORPHAN means that there are operators assigned to the UOR, but the responsible of that structure is not authorized to use the IT Protocol, or is not assigned as operator of that structure. For this reason, the assigned operators cannot manage the structure even if they have been assigned
  • INACTIVE means that there are no operators and no responsible enabled

From each structure's page you will be able to see the status of the structure and the members that belong to the structure.

IT Protocol - Internal structure details

You will be provided with two tabs: one with currently active operators, and one with the history of authorizations.

For each user you can see the access level, their role (operator or responsible) and details about the authorization.
On top, you see a recap of who is the responsible, and if they have access to the structure in the IT Protocol environment.

How can I manage authorizations for structures (UORs)?
